kwek-fd-300x225This is one of my favorites. Kwek kwek (or Tokneneng) isn’t spared from the belief that eggs should be avoided due to its link to cardiovascular diseases. Anti-aging research says consumption of an egg daily is part of a complete anti-aging diet. Research and long term studies have shown that eggs are a great dietary source of calories (75 calories), cholesterol (213 mg), protein (6.25 gm), and a variety of important nutrients for the body.

327784835_6dac9e60e5Bulalo can mean any of three things: 1) the marrow in the bone of the beef shank; 2) the cut of the beef, i.e., bone-in beef shank; or 3) the soup itself which consists of the bone-in beef shank and vegetables. The soup is a simple dish to prepare, really; but the flavorful broth and the texture of the meat makes it a treat.

lumpiang+shanghai

Lumpia are pastries of the Philippines and Indonesia of Chinese origin and are similar to spring rolls.

Wait, wait, wait! Tama ba yung nadinig ko? Ako?

Gen: …….

Aga: Nakuha mo!

Gen: ……(makakarma ka rin.)

Nang makapasok ako sa counter napansin ko puro piso at 25 cents lang ang barya, for short pahirapang magsukli pag ang change ay consisting of 5 pesos. Malas. All is well…Until may bumiling matandang babae.

Matandang babae: (looking shock) Ah ah!

Matandang babae: Nako! Hindi ka pwedeng mag-asawa mamamatay ka! (Mukhang nandiri sakin)

Mwahahahaha! Laptop mode. Blog for the first time today.
